Hi to you folk out there - at last I've started in my new job as "terriorial social justice secretary" on Feb7th. We had a 2 month break after leaving a Salvo appointment in Zambia. It's been great to return to OZ though I LOVED zambia, having spent a total of 12 years there now. Naturally some of that experience will 'rub off' as I join discussions on the site. Look forward to sharing and journey...ing with you. JUStsalvos site has opened my eyes to the possibilities of connecting to a world out there and I am full of wonder and praise to Gen [my predecessor], Danielle [before her] and Esther, admin assistant here, who will have her work cut out, looking after a 'Baby Boomer', who is not only technologically challenged, but is coping with a creature from the wilds of Africa and has to catch up on the Aussie scene.

I will love receiving ideas, tips, anything that can help in generating an environment where justice issues are helpfully shared and we can all contribute toward the transformation of lives and reformation of society that is an integral part of the Salvos Mission statement. Discovering God's good ideas and ideals will be an important part of that journey for me, as I share with you. So thanks heaps - for what you can tell me about that concerns or interest you. If you want more about 'me' and my journey I will share - but I understand that comments are supposed to be MUCH shorter than this first one.

Well, we didn’t achieve world peace, but I think we’ve all come along a little further for seeing a better world for the most disadvantaged and marginalized in our world.

In this Christmas season we must remember that Jesus came to bring peace, hope and freedom, not just for eternity but for here and now. If we join our hearts to his, let us also join our mission to his.

Now in its fifth year, the Williamstown Church of Christ Christmas Festival gives the people of Hobsons Bay, Victoria an opportunity to see past the tinsel and glitter and the busyness of the season to understand the deeper meaning of Christmas. This year, the festival will feature the Act for Peace Christmas Bowl, along with a life sized Advent scene, children’s activities, and more.
The festival runs over seven nights: Wednesday December 14 to Saturday December 17, and Wednesday December 21 to Friday December 23, 6.30 to 9.30pm.

Two important issues for you this month. The much belated sexualisation of children’s pack is here and we hope it is a useful tool when educating yourself and others on this important issue. The packs will be sent in hard copy to all corps, or you can direct people to the website to download the links listed below. The second children’s book ‘Walter Wants Wings’ will be available for purchase from the JustSalvos or Salvationist Supplies in December. The book is a great tool to discuss the issue with children.

The other issue is ethical consumption and will culminate in Abolitionist Sunday on November 20th. There will be more resources coming out on our website throughout the coming weeks, but we wanted to flag the resources out by World Vision for this day (see the links below). We are sorry for the late release of this pack (just waiting on final designs!), but are hoping you will be able to use the information from World Vision on this day, or a day that suits you in the future.

Welcome all to another newsletter. We are still waiting on the release of our sexualisation of children resource pack, but it will be available as soon as we have it! In the meantime, we want to draw your attention to our fourth and final resource pack that will be out in November (Ethical Consumption) as well as our Just Gifts Christmas Appeal project.

As many justice issues as we have here in our local communities, I can never escape the heavy burden of poverty, war and famine that rests on too many in the developing world. Millions are dying from preventable disease and malnourishment, and we must begin to re-examine our own priorities to ensure the lives of so many can be saved. Yes, it is about our own personal decisions about how and where we spend our money, but it is also the pressure we place on our political leaders to take the needs and interests of others into consideration alongside our own. We need individual and collective action to begin to close the ever widening gap between the rich and poor, and if the catalyst is not going to be the complete collapse of the world economy, it might just have to be the good will of both the individual, and of humankind.

After a hugely successful Q&A on Collins event last year, Urban Seed and Collins St Baptist Church are excited to announce that Q&A on Collins is back in 2011! Jon Faine (ABC Radio 774) is returning as moderator for a diverse panel, including Australian of the Year Simon McKeon, comedian Corinne Grant, CEO of the Committee for Melbourne Andrew MacLeod, Boonerwrung elder Carolyn Briggs, Muslim academic Susan Carland and Federal Member for Melbourne Adam Bandt.
Since the Melbourne was recently annouced as the "Most Livable City in the World," we will be asking the question, "What makes a liveable city?" “…In the early 1780s, slavery was an unquestioned part of the global landscape – and then, astonishingly, within a decade, slavery was at the top of the British national agenda. The tide turned, and Britain banned the slave trade in 1807 and in 1833 became one of the first nations to emancipate its own slaves.

For more than half a century, the British public bore tremendous costs for their moral leadership. On the eve of the British abolition of slave-trading, British ships carried 52 percent of the slaves transported across the Atlantic, and British colonies produce 55 percent of the world’s sugar. Without new slaves, the British colonies in the New World were devastated, and Britain’s great enemy, France, benefited enormously. So did the United States. Sugar production in the British West Indies fell 25 percent in the first thirty-five years after Britain’s abolition of the slave trade, while production in competing slave economics rose by 210 percent…

…Two scholars, Chaim Kaufmann and Robert Pape, calculate that for sixty years Britain sacrificed an annual average of 1.8 percentage points of its GNP because of its moral commitment to ending slavery. That is an astonishing total, cumulatively amounting to more than an entire year’s GNP for Great Britain (for the United States today, it would be the equivalent of sacrificing more than $14 trillion), a significant and sustained sacrifice in the British standard of living. It was a heroic example of a nation placing its values above its interests.” (‘Half The Sky’, Nicholas D. Kristof & Sheryl Wudunn)

Sometimes we have to think more ethically than economically. Sometimes the “right” thing isn’t always the “smart” thing, as in the case of Britain sacrificing their standard of living by abolishing the slave trade.

Making the change will require sacrifice.

Half The Sky

“Half the Sky” is a book we’ve been reading at JUSTSalvos lately that is both challenging and informative.

‘Half the Sky lays out an agenda for the world's women and three major abuses: sex trafficking and forced prostitution; gender-based violence including honor killings and mass rape; maternal mortality, which needlessly claims one woman a minute. We know there are many worthy causes competing for attention in the world. We focus on this one because this kind of oppression feels transcendent – and so does the opportunity. The funds were sent to Chikankata high school, where they were able to purchase four new pigs, as well as food and medicine for them. This project has helped the school by acting as an income generating projects to meet some of their needs.

Should Christians be at the forefront?

"Recently I've been involved in a series of discussions around faith and activism - how the Christian faith is involved in bringing about social change. The conversations that spurred from these events have been really encouraging and I've loved delving a little deeper into questions of Christian activism, especially with those who would not label themselves as Christian.

I suspect I will write a number of posts relating to this topic, but today, I want to reflect a little on one of the most common questions that came up in these conversations. The question is whether there is particular reason that Christians should be more involved in confronting social injustice than people of different faiths and world views.

In other words, do Christians make better activists than those who aren't Christians? Will social change will not come about unless "the church" is involved?

I often wish that this was true, especially in my own life, but it's actually not what I mean at all.

I do, however, believe that Christians should be at the forefront of bringing about social change. Why? Because that's what discipleship calls for.

When I look at the example of Jesus, he was constantly challenging the unjust systems of society; unjust systems that flourished because relationship between neighbours had been broken and relationships between levels of power had been abused. The practice of living a "religious" life in Jesus' culture had been so corrupted that the very act of doing good actually meant you needed to break religious rules!

In the opening chapters of the book of Mark you see Jesus healing people and doing acts of mercy and justice, but he was breaking the laws of the sabbath to do so. Immediately he becomes an "enemy" of the religious leaders because of his breaking of these laws, and his claim of authority to do so.

Jesus was not a social activist who ran around looking for things to complain about, things to change. Instead, he was ushering in the Kingdom of God and challenging things that were not in-line with what God would want for this world. As it says in Ephesians, he was walking with the full armour of God and standing against the devils schemes - both personally and publicly.

If Christians are disciples of Jesus, do we have much choice but to walk the same beautiful path?

Do Christians inherently make the best social activists? No. But if they are disciples of Jesus, they will be at the forefront of seeking out injustice that doesn't exist in God's Kingdom and will take actions to end it.

When injustice exists, Christians should be amongst the first to discover it, the first the shed light on it, and the first to declare that in the midst of a narrative of pain, loss and anger, that there is good news! This is not the end of the story!

What's more, the bible says that Christians will also be empowered to challenge those things. Paul says that God's power is at work in the lives of Christ's followers (Eph 3:7 & 20 for example) as they live life according to God's will.

As Christians seek to follow Jesus they will inevitably find things that do not align with God's will for this world, and they will also be empowered to challenge those things, both personally and publicly.

If this is true, why would we expect Christians to be anywhere but on the front lines against injustice?"

Posing a parable

The Salvation Army’s international mission acknowledges that it is ‘an international movement [and] an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church’. ‘Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by love for God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in his name without discrimination.’

In consideration of an understanding of the final clause, meeting ‘human needs in [Christ’s] name without discrimination’, we offer a modern parable.

A parable of us and them

Once upon a time, deep inside a forest, long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there lived a tribe of shiny happy people. They called themselves, duly inspired, the Shiny Happy People.
The Shiny Happy People dug in the rich loamy soil of the forest floor for mushrooms, grubs and dewlip berries dropped on the forest floor. They hunted from the top of the forest’s leafy bowers (for the flighty yet meaty breadfruitgobbler birds) to the surrounding plains (for the succulent little honeybee hogs). The Shinies knew they had it good. They felt blessed by their richness of their lives, the closeness of their familial ties, and the Great Spirit whom they worshipped in the best possible way.

Upon the face of this best of all possible worlds, there lived in the neighbouring forest a tribe of similarly shiny happy people who also called themselves, without qualm or concern, the Shiny Happy People. These other ‘Shinies’ (for thusly they also abbreviated themselves) were fewer in number, but just as Shiny. They knew in their hearts of hearts that they were truly blessed by the richness of their lives, the closeness of their familial ties, and the Great Spirit whom they worshipped in the best possible way.
They, too, were keen on shrooms and grubs and dewlip berries dropped on the forest floor. They also hunted those meaty breadfruitgobbler birds and the afore-mentioned succulent honeybee hogs.

There were few discernible differences between these happy tribes. They all cared for their own. They all hunted and gathered conscientiously. They all sought the happy guidance of the Great Spirit. The distinguishing feature? One clan had very pretty vestigial tails, which they wagged stumpily as they ate their dinners. The other clan had long, cute, prehensile tails from which they swung merrily as they chowed down.

Conflict arose, as it tends to do in all such sagas, over the primacy of ‘Shininess’. Who was more righteous in the Great Spirit’s eyes, and therefore more worthy of the plumpest little honeybee hogs and the ripest of the dewlip berries? While there was plenty to go around, was either group more worthy to receive it?

There was no doubt in the minds of both parties that they were who they were because of the Great Spirit’s largesse, and that they had received their natures from a benevolent provider of grace and gifts. A nasty little war ensued.

Toes were crushed, fur flew, noses were bloodied and tails were tweaked, singed, jumped on and broken. In many cases lives were lost.

Once the forest had resounded with the sounds of laughter, industry and the happy munching, slurping and gobbling sounds of contented folk. Now there was the noise of bitter tears, the wails of mourning and the crackling of funereal pyres.

Shinies were dulled, clobbered by grief. They seemed unable, or unwilling, to unearth a common truth: each other’s tails were equally valid.

Welcome but long past due, a forlorn peace broke out; stumbling forth like welcome birdsong on a cold morning. There was but a handful of ‘lesser Shinies’ present to greet and enjoy it. The majority of their set-upon families were killed or long gone, choosing exile over terror.

When two tribes go to war there are no victors. All fall victim to hatred’s flames and the life-denying pettiness of fear.

The bottom line? The forest floor is big enough for all Shiny Happy Peoples.

Nigerian 'baby factory' raided, 32 teenage girls freed

LAGOS (AFP) – Nigerian police have raided a home allegedly being used to force teenage girls to have babies that were then offered for sale for trafficking or other purposes, authorities said on Wednesday.

"We stormed the premises of the Cross Foundation in Aba three days ago following a report that pregnant girls aged between 15 and 17 are being made to make babies for the proprietor," said Bala Hassan, police commissioner for Abia state in the country's southeast.

"We rescued 32 pregnant girls and arrested the proprietor who is undergoing interrogation over allegations that he normally sells the babies to people who may use them for rituals or other purposes."

Some of the girls told police they had been offered to sell their babies for between 25,000 and 30,000 naira (192 dollars) depending on the sex of the baby.

The babies would then be sold to buyers for anything from 300,000 naira to one million naira (1,920 and 6,400 dollars) each, according to a state agency fighting human trafficking in Nigeria, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The girls were expected to be transferred to the regional NAPTIP offices in Enugu on Wednesday, the regional head Ijeoma Okoronkwo told AFP.

Hassan said the owner of the "illegal baby factory" is likely to face child abuse and human trafficking charges. Buying or selling of babies is illegal in Nigeria and can carry a 14-year jail term.

"We have so many cases going on in court right now," said Okoronkwo.

In 2008, police raids revealed an alleged network of such clinics, dubbed baby "farms" or "factories" in the local press.

Cases of child abuse and people trafficking are common in West Africa. Some children are bought from their families to for use as labour in plantations, mines, factories or as domestic help.

Others are sold into prostitution while a few are either killed or tortured in black magic rituals. NAPTIP says it has also seen a trend of illegal adoption.

"There is a problem of illict adoption and people not knowing the right way to adopt children," said Okoronkwo.

Human trafficking is ranked the third most common crime after economic fraud and drug trafficking in the country, according to UNESCO.

Status of Women

- Women have not achieved equality with men in any country.

- Of the world's 1.3 billion poor people, it is estimated that nearly 70 per cent are women.

- Between 75 and 80 per cent of the world's 27 million refugees are women and children.

Women and Education

- Of the world's nearly one billion illiterate adults, two-thirds are women.

- Two-thirds of the 130 million children worldwide who are not in school are girls.

Women and Labour

- The majority of women earn on average about three-fourths of the pay of males for the same work.

- In most countries, women work approximately twice the unpaid time men do.

- Rural women produce more than 55 per cent of all food grown in developing countries.

Women and Health

- Women are becoming increasingly affected by HIV. Today about 42 per cent of estimated cases are women.

- An estimated 20 million unsafe abortions are performed worldwide every year, resulting in the deaths of 70,000 women.

Women and Violence

- Each year an estimated two million girls suffer the practice of female genital mutilation.

- The primary victims of today's wars are civilian women and their children, not soldiers.

- The use of rape as a weapon of war has become more evident. In Rwanda from April 1994 to April 1995, estimates of the number of women and girls raped is at over 250,000.

THE (AFL) WORLD'S GONE MAD

This week has seen a cyber-explosion of angst against injustice rarely seen in this country. No, it had nothing to do with the newly-released budget or asylum seekers, but rather the absolutely farcical three-game suspension handed down to second-year Melbourne Football Club dynamo Jack Trengove. For those who tragically aren’t avid AFL fans, this week the intelligentsia behind the league’s match review panel decided to suspend Trengove for what has been universally lauded as “the perfect tackle” on Adelaide’s Patrick Dangerfield (who left the field concussed), incorrectly assessing the incident in the process and sending the game into a tailspin of confusion about what is and isn’t permitted on the field. Cue the (completely justified) lambasting of the decision and the AFL by players, supporters, and everyone with a desire to see the sport not completely sanitised to the point where future matches will have to be decided by future captains battling it out on an EA Sports AFL game on an Xbox somewhere to prevent injury. High farce.

This whole debacle has however provided an interesting insight into how injustice is allowed to continue in our society. While Melbourne supporters (yours truly included) and other AFL fans have lost the plot on internet forums and social media, Melbourne players have expressed their disgust via Twitter, and the Herald Sun newspaper has set up a ‘Free Demon Jack’ Facebook page which has thus far garnered over 3000 ‘likes’ in 24 hours, the anger has largely been restricted to the internet, TV news and talkback radio. Where have the physical, situation-changing responses been though? Where is Demon legend Ron Barassi chaining himself to the cars of match review panel members? Where are the thousands of outraged demonstrators protesting day and night outside AFL House? Where was the Demon mascot hurling his plastic trident at unsuspecting AFL administrators after Tuesday’s laughable tribunal hearing, at which 64 minutes of evidence was ignored in just four minutes of deliberation? And where was I on my promised one-man crusade of justice through AFL headquarters wearing a Vin Catoggio wig and brandishing ‘Free Jack’ placards?

Maybe I haven’t caught up with the power of social media yet. It’s possible that internet blogs and forums, Facebook, Twitter and any other forms are the future of justice campaigning. However, when Melbourne’s latest appeal is heard at 5.30 this evening, I doubt those with the power to revoke Trengove’s ridiculous suspension will be taking into account the 3000 likes on the ‘Free Demon Jack’ Facebook page. Perhaps they wouldn’t listen either to the sounds of 400 rabid lunatics in red and blue out the front of the hearing, but I think such a public demonstration is an important visual display of disgust at a clear injustice.

It is incredibly simple to add your name to a cause on Facebook, as the growing number have done in support of Trengove. How much this actually achieves though is questionable. While I’m not advocating a rampage a la Liam Neeson in Taken in this case, though that would have been both spectacular and potentially glorious, there is something to be said for public, memorable protesting at injustice. This week we’ve seen absolute outrage at comedic incompetence on the AFL’s part, but the response, while passionate, has been a few clicks of a mouse and some angry words typed on internet forums, a couple of semi-coherent rants on SEN radio and some columns in Melbourne newspapers warning of the potential damning effect the decision could have on the game.

And you know what? The likely happenings at tonight’s appeal will consist of Trengove’s legal representatives pointing out the utter stupidity and incorrectness of the classification of Trengove’s incident replete with evidence and testimony, which will be followed by a couple of minutes of whispering (most likely about what they’d like for dinner) by the match review panel before upholding the three week ban. Nothing will have changed, and Melbourne, not far removed from a huge campaign to eliminate $5M in debt, will have to decide whether or not the principle of the matter is worth the financial burden and political danger of taking on the increasingly Gestapo-like AFL by taking the case to court.

So what is the solution then? In this case, justice firstly requires that the Melbourne Football Club take this matter as far as they can, and if that means court, then so be it. Seeking a just outcome can include using social media, but it doesn’t end there. Social media allows us to promote injustices that are out there, to gather public support and to provide information and ways of acting to bring about justice. Sending the AFL information that most people aren’t happy with this decision however isn’t going to change the collective mind of an organisation that hates to be corrected at the best of times. Not when the league’s new five-year TV rights deal will net them $1.253 billion, a clear indicator that the footy public is pretty happy with the current state of the game. The situation calls for politically dangerous moves from not only the Melbourne Football Club, but other media outlets concerned with the plight of the game, whether that comes from Melbourne’s AFL-committed newspapers, radio stations or television networks. Lastly, the public (and this will never happen) would need to be incredibly organised, united and committed in their response. If games were largely boycotted by fans this week, that would take the attention of the game’s administrators pretty quickly. The AFL doesn’t need to admit an error unless the response is so undeniably confronting that action would need to be taken.

The Trengove case highlights this week the way in which a large section of the public can be outraged about an injustice but largely do nothing about it. And why was nothing substantial done? Because it’s difficult, confronting, and because we lead busy lives. As much as I’d have loved to go on a Clark Griswold-style hijacking of the tribunal hearing on Tuesday night, I was working at the time and missed out. Acting against injustice requires a personal cost and commitment, whether financial or of time. And you know what else? I don’t know how many supporters at home who were outraged by the suspension thought they could actually make a difference to the outcome themselves. Probably none I’m guessing, with the possible exception of that Richmond supporter from the 1990s who emptied his manure truck at the front door of the club’s administration after a particularly poor performance from the Tigers. We’re taught, whether subconsciously or not, that we really can’t make a difference in our world. That corporations are too big too be touched, that starving children halfway across the world in Africa are too far away to be helped, that child prostitution is too underground a problem to be solved, that homelessness is not our concern but somebody else’s and probably won't ever be eradicated, and so on. It’s quite possible that if I parasailed onto the turf at Etihad Stadium at this Saturday’s Melbourne game with a 20-foot “Free Trengove” banner, it would achieve nothing more than me being slapped with the obligatory $7000 fine for entering the field during play, and leaving the game with a criminal record. But what are we prepared to sacrifice, risk or act on to ensure that just outcomes are found for those most oppressed. Does the victim of sex trafficking receive any help from us beyond a feeling of outrage that such a situation can occur? If you’re unhappy with how asylum seekers are treated in this country, have you done anything to help their plight beyond writing messages of support on Facebook?

So, "How do I help?", you are asking from your computer at home. I don’t have the answers for each individual situation (that’s a whole other blog), but I will encourage you to be passionate about issues of injustice, and to let this passion inform your actions. Be organised, committed, united with others in the cause, and vigilant. And see the oppressed as your brother or sister – love your neighbour as yourself. In the words of legendary Hawthorn coach John Kennedy, “Do something!”

Children are the future.

Any arguments?

I think it’s pretty much a biological fact that the next generation of youth and adults will come from the children of today. Pretty straight forward I’d say.

If the above is true, what I find puzzling is the seeming lack of funding, resources, people and time given to children, in comparison to teenagers, adults, and the elderly.

What is so extraordinarily appealing in waiting until the little ones have hit puberty before we decide to start investing in their futures and well being?

I’m making reference more specifically to the fact that you will find (at least in my experience) an abundance of people willing to spend time with youth and teenagers...willing to run drop in centres, social clubs, Friday night youth groups, church hang outs, etc. But when it comes to the children...only a few put up their hand. And of those few, mainly females remain.

I’m an employed children’s worker. I’m in my late 20’s and have been working with kids, in a very wide variety of settings, both voluntary and for employment for the past 10 years. I consider it a privilege to be welcomed into the world of a child and to have the opportunity of journeying alongside with them. I am never bored but am instead forever being entertained, challenged, taught, and stretched. What’s not to like?

I am continually running into the problem of not having enough people willing to give of time and invest in kids who desperately need someone to care. Oh, there are many good intentions, with most people stating how much they love children. There just aren’t people who are willing to put their words into actions and actually give some time to kids (in their own communities) who could use an hour of positive attention more than anything in the world. However...I’ve been to youth events where the adults outnumber the teens, and the amount of youth workers to children’s workers funded and employed are 5:1. Never mind the fact that more time is put into youth “programs” and big flashy events, then it is into spending one on one time mentoring and discipling youth who could really use an adult to walk along side them and take an interest in their world.

If children are our future, and childhood certainly happens BEFORE adolescence, isn’t that where we should start? If the decisions teens are going to make under peer pressure, biological change, and worldly pressure are going to be at all influenced by what they have known and experienced up until this point in their lives, doesn’t that make the time of their childhood absolutely critical to helping prepare them for the hardest stretch of change, decision making, and new things they are ever likely going to face?

Childhood is fleeting, yet it leaves a lasting thumbprint on the rest of an individual’s life. Doesn’t it make it the most valuable and vital time to invest a few minutes into the next generation of youth and adults? Maybe we wouldn’t ‘need’ quite so many youth workers if the investment time was put in just a few years earlier?

I’ve heard the line, “but I’m just not good with kids” or “kids don’t like me.” Granted, there are a few people who I might want to say that to. Regardless, I was challenged recently by someone who said, “There is no such thing as children’s workers, and there’s no such thing as youth workers. There are only people workers.”
In the past, I may have argued that, stating that I believe my gifting and talents make me a children’s worker and that is the only thing I will dedicate my life to. However, experiences in the past couple of years have led me to think on the above statement that perhaps, the problem we have (specifically in the church) is not being able to train up ‘people workers’.

We tell people that they can only do kid’s ministry OR youth ministry OR seniors ministry, never crossing over between areas. But what if we taught that things weren’t meant to be this off balance? What if we were all “people” workers? Then certainly the important time and influence needed in the life of a child wouldn’t be wanting, and we wouldn’t be bombarded by people who want to join the ‘hip’ ministry of youth work leaving those age groups who maybe aren’t quite as attractive, by the way side. The needs of people would be met, not just a select few.

My heart is well and truly for children’s ministry, and I am continually amazed at the lack of people wanting to pick up on the cause that will affect the future of everyone, never mind the fact that it takes a giving of so little to make a difference in the lives of some so desperate.

However, I would like to conclude with calling you to be people workers. Be advocates for people who are desperate and without a voice, not being limited by the need to be titled and put into a box, only giving time to the groups that are easy or are the most popular to work with.

And if needs be, maybe for the first time, consider investing into kids.

O Lord, show me ways to respond to this human tragedy. Show me how I can live in fidelity to your word in the days of anguish and despair for countless people. Give me an enlightened mind, a fervent heart, and a strong will so that I can speak and act according to your great commandment of love.
I know what is happening, I realise the emergency of the situation and i am convinced of the need to make a generous response. But I do not yet know clearly what you ask me to do here and now. I pray that you will help me to find my way of being your disciple. Amen
